I wish I could be There...

I don't want to make my problems seem insurmountable; I don't want to be the melodramatic type of blogger that's littered across the internet. But I am tired and i am growing disillusioned with so much that life has to offer -- disillusioned and skeptical.

The gym is a microcosm that in many ways is but a reflection of the murky realities that so many of us try to leave at the door that leads into our day's workout.

Great Leg Workout

Back to basics for the the Giant and the Hawk on a typical leg day (Tuesday). We got started with squats:
Set #1: Naked Bar 8-Reps
Set #2: 135lbs 8-Reps
Set #3: 225lbs 8-Reps
Set #4: 315 8-Reps
Set #5: 365lbs 5:6-Reps
Set #6 405lbs 2-Reps
Set #7 135lbs 8-Reps
The routine included five sets of Front Squats, Hack Squats, Lunges, Leg Presses, and Leg Extensions.

All in all, we trained for about 90 minutes with almost no breaks. The intensity was great, and blasted through another great leg day (a favorite of ours during the six months we've been training together).

Train Hard, and check out our site StrengthAddicts.com for more articles, photos, videos, and interviews!

38/36

Leave it to me to lose weight and become a size so rare that there's all but one pair of jeans in the whole JC Penny. Not to worry though, the very cool store staff were able to make a quick exchange the next day and I got a heck of a great deal. Four really cool t-shirts at 80% off for like $5 each, a really sweet Dockers sweater, and an extra pair of Levi's. The initial purchase that was exchanged was for a pair of Arizona jeans that were a whopping $14.95.That's a total steal.

So... the quest to lose weight and get ripped continues, but I no longer have to wear 42's with a tight-ass belt.. I mean it was starting to look like I was wearing sacks-for-pants. Funny but also an epic fail.

Early Morning Cardio

"Additionally, the research indicates a physiological link between grapefruit and insulin, as it relates to weight management. The researchers speculate that the chemical properties of grapefruit reduce insulin levels and encourage weight loss."

Quoted from: Medical News Today

Taking a note from fmr. Ms. Olympia Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia, I've decided that for the next four weeks (without fail), I'll be rising in the morning to 6-8oz of grapefruit juice and a 1-2 mile brisk walk.
